Future Planet is delighted to be appointed the trusted partner of Walls Construction - a leading Irish building contractor - for Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) compliance and an ISO 20400 sustainable procurement transformation.

Speaking on the announcement, Louise Martin, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Lead (Walls Construction) said: “At Walls, we recognise that we must be transparent about the impacts, risks and opportunities within our operations and value chain. The Future Planet platform is an important element of our sustainability transformation and compliance journey and helps everyone to play their part. The platform makes it straightforward to navigate the complexities of CSRD, and to quickly understand what the important sustainability issues are for our business. In essence, it is a one-stop shop.”

Under the theme of ‘Building Our Future Together,’ Walls initially identified key topics for consideration in its ESG Plan (2022-2025), including waste management, carbon management, water protection and conservation, natural environment and safety and healthy work environment. To align with CSRD requirements, Future Planet is currently working with Walls to develop its Double Materiality Assessment (DMA), which will help Walls to identify and confirm the topics that are most material to its business and its value chain.

On the announcement, Ingrid De Doncker, co-founder and Head of Research and Innovation at Future Planet, said: “It is fantastic to be working with Walls. Our aim is to make it easy for Walls to meet its CSRD compliance obligations while embedding sustainable practices as part of a business transformation. The Future Planet platform makes it simple for everyone to collaborate and for businesses to build and execute on a clear roadmap that will help them achieve their sustainability targets while delivering their commercial goals.”

Brendan D’Arcy, Quality Manager & Procurement Lead (Walls Construction) added: “At Walls, we aim to procure sustainable, ethical, and responsibly sourced materials, goods and services. Our focus is on encouraging continuous improvement of sustainable alternatives throughout our supply chain. The Future Planet platform makes it very straightforward to engage our multi-functional teams in assessing our sustainable procurement maturity across the organisation.”

Future Planet makes it easy to embed sustainability as part of a business transformation, engaging all stakeholders on this critical mission. The AI (Artificial Intelligence) platform makes it simple for everyone to collaborate and for businesses to build and execute on a clear roadmap that will help them define and achieve their sustainability targets while delivering their commercial goals.
